Our Story

Dot Dot Studios began at a kitchen table, with a spool of thread, a needle, and a curious five-year-old.

As a fashion designer, sewing has always been second nature to me. It’s how I express creativity, solve problems, and make ideas tangible. When I became a parent, I felt a strong desire to pass this craft on to my child—something I believed was becoming forgotten. I began teaching my son how to sew, stitch by stitch, not knowing where it would lead.

What surprised me most was how quickly he learned. At just five years old, he showed focus, confidence, and pride in creating something with his own hands. Sewing became more than a skill—it became a way for him to slow down, think creatively, and believe in what he could make.

Word spread. Friends began asking if I could teach their children too. I said yes—and from that simple beginning, Dot Dot Studios was born.

Today, Dot Dot Studios is a sanctuary sewing studio run out of my home in the foothills of Altadena, California. Here, children are welcomed into a calm, creative space where they learn the art of sewing from the ground up—from hand-sewing basics to confidently using a sewing machine. We emphasize patience, craftsmanship, and quality, guiding each child to create projects that are not only fun and expressive, but durable and beautifully made.

At Dot Dot Studios, children leave with more than a finished project. They leave with new skills, confidence in their abilities, and the joy of creating something real—one stitch at a time.
